Abide
This morning, as I snuck outside to get alone with my bible and my extra large cuppa joe, I started praying about this upcoming school year. Thoughts, worries, feeling inadequate, schooling two this year with two other babes needing my attention, and all the other cares of this world were on my mind and then I just felt that still small voice from the Lord whisper over me, "Remain in Me, and I in you." His answer is so simple. Remain - Abide.
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." (John 15:4-5)
ABIDE... His word to me for this school year. Abide in Jesus in the hard and challenging times when I feel desperate for Him. Abide in Jesus when my heart can feel more prone to wander because I'm NOT feeling desperate for Him (even though I always am.) Abide in Jesus in the happy and seemingly easier times. Abide in Jesus when I haven't slept all night because of sick babies and my patience and nerves are gone. Abide in Jesus when my heart is full of joy or full of heartache. Abide in Jesus when I don't have the answers. Abide in Jesus in all of it, each day because IN HIM is where it all makes sense again. IN HIM is how I will bear fruit in my life to then pour that over my children.
His mercies are new every morning and each day is a fresh start in homeschooling my children regardless of how a previous day may have gone. This year my prayer is that both my girls and myself find so much joy in the whole process of learning together.
